putty ssh
Hello! i am new on the forum and i'm not sure if anyone did have my problem. I want to connect with putty from ubuntu to win7, using SSH. I am not sure what ssh server to use on win 7, how to configure it and if i need something special for putty in ubuntu. thanks for any answers!!!

Hi, you cannot connect to Windows with ssh. For remote Administration is the best way to use Remote Desktop. In linux is that the program named rdesktop. At first you must allow remote acces to your computer. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/turn-on-remote-desktop-in-windows-vista/ You must have Windows 7 Professional or higher. On Home Premium is not this function.

http://www.freesshd.com/ works fine under win 7 Pro using winscp as a client ... I have not done any tunneling / X11 forwarding but file / shell functions work fine (with the correct users permissions)
