You definately need more RAM in order to have a decent experience and I would recommend Xp Home Edition since it uses less resources to operate.

Without more RAM any version of Windows will groan. You need at least 512MB
of RAM for Windows XP to run happily.

Have you actually ever tried to run either version of xp with the minimum requirements stated on the link you provided? I have... works if that's what you want to call it.. Not a pleasant experience though. Noel is correct in my opinion. 512 at a minumum
for Home Ed and I would add that 1gb is necessary for Pro. Will it operate on less? Sure it will! But, it's slow motion all the way...
