The restore points are reset when you reboot. They are still there if you use the startup repair tool when the system will not start.
Vote if answered or helpful, I am running for Office (joke)!

Hi Kunal666,
With dual boot XP and Windows 7, there is a limitation that you will lose your Win7 restore points as soon as you boot into XP. Please refer to this article for
the issue and possible workaround:
No restore points are available when you use Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008-based operating systems in a dual-boot configuration together with an earlier Windows operating system
Also, restore points are saved until the disk space System Restore reserves is filled up. As new restore points are created, old ones are deleted. If you turn off
system protection (the feature that creates restore points) on a disk, all restore points are deleted from that disk. When you turn system protection back on, new restore points are created.
For more information, please refer to:
System Restore: frequently asked questions
Besides, please check the Disk Space usage for system protection by the steps below:
1.
Go to
Start, right click on Computer, and then click
Properties.
2.
On the left pane, click
System protection.
3.
Check if the
Protection status of the drive you would like to use System Restore is
On.
4.
Highlight the drive and then click
Configure…
5.
Move the slide bar of the
Max Usage to the right to increase the disk space for system protection.
6.
Click
OK.
If the issue still exists, check the System Event Log and see if there is any error related.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Linda

This problem isn't going to go away by itself. This also occurs in Home Premium as well, all windows 7. MS needs to issue a fix for this problem already...
Too many people effected. We don't want to go back to the VISTA days so we.....?
