server execution failure - ???
Hellow - I have a Win 7 Digital Storm gaming machine, with 4 hard drives connected via a USB hub. Recently I have been getting the "server execution failure" message when trying to aceess the external hd's. Things are fine for a while then I get the error. I tried plugging the drive directly into my pc, and same problem. When I plug the drive into another pc (XP), it works fine.Any thoughts? Thanks,Butch

When I click into System Tools, I don't see Local Users and Groups" as a choice. I have Task Sched, Event Viewer, Shared folders, Performance, and Device Mgr.I'm using Win 7 Home Premium. Many thanks!

You may temporary disable the antivirus and check the result. If the issue still occurs, I suspect that this issue is related to the power supply. How does it work if you only connect that problematic hard drive to the computer? If the issue does not occur, I suggest you upgrade BIOS, or replace the power supply.Arthur Xie - MSFT

AHA! I have just realized this only applies to Windows Media Player. If I play a file using VLC, no problems!

Funny you never mentioned that's what you were trying to do in your original complaint. Please in the future, be more specifc as to exactly what the problem is your experiencing so those trying to help can help.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message.
