I recently got a virus (I believe) and every time I'm in a network where I'm not protected by a NAT firewall my anti virus quits, my keyboard goes out and then task manager won't run. after all that i can't left click anything and nothing will open. Is this really a virus or a glitch in the system?

Could be a LAN problem. Also you may have corrupted you AV program. Try the repair option or remove and install it over and see if that helps. I have Just bought Trend Micro and ran it and it found one malware add on and removed it before installation. After installation there was a driver issue and I'm trying to contact the company right now. So as of now i cannot run any anti virus program. I did re-install the OS but that did not help.

i havent tried safe mode. i have tried using the system with no anti-virus protection and it works just fine without any problems so i dont know if Windows 7 has a problem with the anti-virus programs. i have now considered putting Windows XP Professional or Windows Vista back on. i really do like the Windows 7 system and how fast it works My computer is an Acer Extenza 4620Z 1.46GHz Pentium Dual Core 2GB DDR2 RAM

i have used AVG before. it was just really slowing down the system withit checking every file when it loads.

The latest version of AVG works fine, its now at version 8.5 and I am using it with no problems. I do not see slowdowns on my system.
