svchost.exe 100% CPU ntdll.dll
I have Win7 Ultimate. Process Explorer show 2 thread for svchost.exe with 100% CPU usage. 1: ntdll.dll!RtlIsCriticalSectionLockedByThread+0x9f0 (about 50% CPU) 2: ntdll.dll!RtlRegisterThreadWithCsrss+0x197 (about another 50% CPU) nuance: After I go to sleep my comp and start after sleep - this problem are leaves. I don't have virus: it say malwarebytes and MSE. What is it? And how to resolve this problem? I may kill this thread, but this income in next time. Help!

Svchost.exe is a generic process working as a host for other processes turning from Dlls, there may be several entries for this process. Symptoms like yours are generally the result of IE 3rd party add-on's. Disable IE add-on's and see if your problem doesn't disappear.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST

Does Task Manager report the same CPU usage? If so, please disable all startup items and third party services when booting. This method will help us determine if this issue is caused by a loading program or service. Please perform the following steps:1. Click the Start Button type "msconfig" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.
Note: If prompted, please click Continue on the User Account Control (UAC) window.2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray). 3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
Then, restart the computer. When the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the "Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts" box and click OK.
Does the issue occur? If the issue disappears, one of your startup programs can be the root cause.
However, if the issue persists in Clean Boot Mode, please remember the PID of the problematic svchost.txt program. Then, run the command "tasklist /m > %userprofile%\Desktop\task.txt". Please open the file task.txt in Desktop, find the correct PID. There will be series of *.dll files listed under this process. Please check them one by one and find if there is any third party *.dll file, and if exists rename the *.dll to *.dl_.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Now, we are getting somewhere, but not exact. I did as described - disabled all 3rd party, but still the CPU-load was close to 100%. Then I noted the PID (816), proceeded and got the textfile. But, the PID 816 isn`t listed there! Now what? I appreciate all your help..... Thanks. Bjoern and the next time I restarted my PC the PID was 528.......

I don't found that PIDtoo.
I think this problem source is computer configuration.
On another computer with the same installed program I don't have this problem.
It is my computer:

Please launch Task Manager, then click "Show processes from all users". Please find the svchost.exe processes that cost 50% of CPU resources. You can remember the PID of them. Then you can check loaded *.dll information
If you would like to check which system services run on the process, you can run the following command.
tasklist svc
Then you can find the corresponding process by the PID and find which services that are running on it.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Hi! I didn`t want to use more time on this problem. I reinstalled Win7, for offcourse I had all "my documents" on a different partition. This took less than 1/2 hour. Well, reinstalling the programs took a few hours, but I am now back to about 90% of what I had installed. Everything works just grat again. Now, if I find out what caused the 100% load, when installing the remaining 10% of my programs - I will let you guys know :-) Good luck with your troubles.... Bjoern (Norway)

If it happens againyou can operate insafe mode and observe any difference. You can also use system configuration interface to disable certain startup, driverand service itemsto narrow down the cause.Seasons greetings!

i get the same problem, i have not payed too much attention to it as i have been busy with various other projects at the moment. my part time solution is simply to monitor my cpu usage and whenever it rises to near 100% check and end the svchost process, this fixes my problem but occationaly it will reapear later. it doesn't always occur right after startup and often happens while i have firefox open but this could be a coincidence as i am constantly browsing. i hope this has been of some use.
