Hi, Could anybody help me in creating system imaga ana backup successfully. I use windows 7 OS with Norton antivirus. Initially i encountered the error 0x80780119, i resolved as per the discussions in forum by making the C: drive active thereby excluding the system reserve space. Now I am facing the problem "The system cannot find the file specified" with an error code of 0x80070002" I ran chkdsk for errors-- none reported I checked for media center network services also disabled. I checked the registry for corrupt profiles result none found. I could not determine the file which is missing. I would be grateful if some one helps me in successful backup. regards, harry

Hi, In addition to the above, i would like to inform, i am backing up in the same hard disk. I've followed through on the Log files - those *.etl files, and got to a user friendly readable format in Event Viewer where my 5 Mb of log file was interpreted into lines of events. All of them ended with the very same conclusion - "No Format Information found". Regards, Harry

Harry, Have you tried to back up after configuring the system to Clean boot in order to rule out Norton as the cause of the error ? Backing up to the same HD means that if something goes wrong with said HD, the backups will be lost. Not sure if this is the cause of the error but I do know that the instructions in Backup and Restore clearly state that one can not backup to the root drive, the same partition of the HD that Windows is on. This KB article contains no mention of the "No Format Information found" message but does cover 3 scenarios where the 0x8007002 return code occurs - Error code 0x8100002F and or error code 0x80070002 when you back up files in Windows 7 MowGreen Windows Expert IT Pro - Consumer Security *-343-* FDNY NEVER FORGOTTEN

Harry, Generally speaking you can not backup to your self. In another words, you can't back up hard disk #1 to hard disk #1. Do yo have an external usb lying around? Let me know if you can back up to an external usb. You are using the built-in backup and restore capabilities of Win 7, I assume.
