trojan/startup speed
run a scan and it tells me that i have a trojan...startup speed has always been slow..slower now though..have no extra money to spend on registry cleanup programs..thinkin bout 'restore' as an option..i have 'xp' on an Emachines computer..any advice or instruction would be greatly appreciated 1 person needs an answerI do too

many free AV programs to install and run on web, also web scanners ie kaspersky etc. search web for free trojan removers.

there are a lot of free programs that might help you outone is MBAMwww.malwarebytes.org and of course if you dont have an AV program, id suggest getting one one of the best registry cleanup programs is ccleaner also if you are paying for a registry cleaner, that may be where the trojans are coming from cause i know there are some malware programs disguised as registry cleaners...so if you are using any programs that you are trying to use in order to help, it would be good to know the names of those programs so we can rule out whether or not thats whats causeing your problems

Chances are the very program telling you that you have a trojan is a trojan itself. This is known as rogue malware. This would explain the slow start-up. I recommend you post this question on the free computer support site on the link below.
