unable to open certain types of email attachment
When trying to open certain email attachments I get the following message:'This file doesn't have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association on the Folder Options control panel'I can find nothing on the Control Panel - Folder Options to do this. Please advise how to go about it.1 person needs an answerI do too

You need to first be sure you have an appropriate program installedto open a file of that type. For example, to open a .pdf file, youneed to have the free Adobe Reader (the most commonly used suchprogram for pdf files) or another such program, such as the free FoxitReader (my personal choice of the best such program for pdf files). So what is the extension (the last characters of the file name, afterthe dot) of the files you are unable to open? If you don't have anappropriate program installed, you need to either buy one or downloada free one, if available. 2. Once you are sure you have an appropriate program installed forthat file type, you need to make sure the association for that filetype is set up correctly. If following step one above means youinstall such a program, it will probably set up the association foryou. If you have to set up the association yourself, in my view going toControl Panel is the hard way to do it. Here's the easy way: find*any* program of that type on your hard drive, right-click on it, andchoose Open With. Select or browse to the correct program, check thebox "Always use..." and click OK.
