Help...I have photos and files from the past month that I have not backed up yet!!!!You have damaged your system volume when you performed a hard shut down. To repair this you will either need your windows disc, have recovery console already installed or you can click on the link below and follow the instructions on how to make a recovery console disc. Once you have one of those methods in place follow the instructions below. How to Create a Bootable XP Recovery Console CDTo repair the volume, follow these steps:Start your computer by inserting the Windows startup disks or the Windows installation disk if your computer can start from the CD drive. When the Welcome to Setup screen appears, press R to select the repair option. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the Windows installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console.Type the administrator password when you are prompted to do this.Note If no administrator password exists, press ENTER. At the command prompt, on the drive where Windows is installed, type chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER. At the command prompt, type exit , and then press ENTER to restart your computer. After you repair the volume, check your hardware to isolate the cause of the file system damage. If this procedure does not work, repeat it, but type fixboot instead ofchkdsk /r in step 5.Regards,JoelFree computer support and diagnostics -->> http://repairbotsonline.forumotion.com/

Obviously, but if you look at the times stamps on the msgs, you willl deduce that your msg wasnt available when I replied, otherwise I wouldnt have bothered.

Joel, I have my Windows start up disk-put it in the computer--but its not recognizing the disk. I still get the problem was detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to my computer. then the unmounable error. it says if problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. disable bios memory options such as cachinr ot shadowing. or go to safe mode to remove or restart. 0x83382900 is a new code that popped up--now what do I do??

If you boot from the startup disks, and they are not recognised, and you should get a msg, either the creation of the startup disks went wrong or there is a hardware failure

When booting from a disc you should receive a prompt to press any key to boot from a cd. I would recommend you check that as well. While you are in there, this made me think, check to make sure your hard drive is set to boot second. If the hard drive was set to boot 3rd or later set it to boot 2nd and try to load windows again without the disc. If that proves not to be the issue try to boot from the disc.Regards,JoelFree computer support and diagnostics -->> http://repairbotsonline.forumotion.com/
