user profile can't be created
Hi,I have a strange problem. I have two user accounts (a standard user and an admin). When I log on to my computer with the admin user I don't have any problems but when I log on with the other user account, my profile is not created, I only got a temporary profile. But this profile works well under XP or Vista. I experience this only since I installed win7. I don't understand why I have temporary profile...Please help.Thank You in advance.Zoli

Did you upgrade to Win7 or did a clean install? If you upgraded, chances are that the profile was corrupted. Also worth noting: How can the profile work under Vista and XP? are those in the same hard disk?A suggestion: Try creating another account, log in and see what happens, if you do not experience the problem then you can possibly export data and settings from the other account only if necessary.RegardsHugo Alberto

Hi,Appart from ijazbof's question, did you receive any error message like "Your user profile was not loaded correctly! You have been logged on with a temporary profile. "? Pls provide the exact symptom when logging on your profiles.Does this issue occurs right after installing Windows 7?This problem occurs if the current user’s profile was accidentally deleted from the system or has been corrupted during the installation of win7.Try log off and log back on instead of reboot the computer to check the result. If no go, follow these steps to clear the corrupt profile:1.Reboot your Windows 7 machine and log on as different user. Make sure the different user account is a administrator (added to the Administrators group). Or you could log on in to safe mode if you don't know how to.2.Open Explorer and open C:\Users. Delete the directory of “problematic” user profile and “Temp” directory.3.Run the Windows Vista registry editor by type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.4.Locate and then expand the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
5.You need to find the correct SID and delete it. To make sure you are deleting the right one, check the key ProfileImagePath which has the profile path.6.Close the registry editor and reboot the computer.
After you log on to the system, the profile folder is re-created.
