vista sp 1 wireless lan copy issuse.
so i have searched the whole net and called microsoft yet still an on going issuse. heres the deal.i picked up a vista sp 1 book, put it on my lan, and internet works flawless, in can stream gigs of gigs of data at a time, the problem occurs when i network share, tries to copy files over 110 megs, or so, large file copy just fails. auto tuning is off, rps is off, network discovery is on, i can copy small files, 90 megs etc.i can browse all pc, if i use microsoft networking monitor 3.1 it bsod vista, if i have it running on the vista machine use a diffrent machine to copy to vista it bsod vista.i have for hardware check installed a diffrent os'es and at 5 ghz connection throgh draft n i can copy to my harts content, when i goto vista, it decides to stop the copy around 100 megs or so, and drop the wireless connection. router is vista approved, the book was hp built so hardware is vista certified, driver is not the issuse 11.5.1.x version and 11.5.0.x version did the same effect, 12.x.x.x that intel recently relesed do the same. its not a driver issuse, it not a networking issuse, i can stream for days off the internet.i can copy 50 meg files, i cant copy 500 megs and up tho, moving 10 gigs errors and disconnects the vista pc off the router.anybody know a fix for this?

I have the same issue but I have a Vaio. I suspect that when you say network share you are attempting to upload? I assume the card is also Intel. I have the Intel 4965 and on Wireless N. I run Vista x64 with XP x64 Intel drivers. Vista x64 intel drivers causes my system to experience BSOD. The 11.5.0.x used to work but after upgrading to SP1, this issue starts to occur. Prior to SP1, I can upload (abet slowly), and not experience any issues.

Hi, Based on my experience, we need to capture network packets and even perform debuggingto analysis/troubleshooting this kind of issues. Since the nature limitation in forum, please understand that Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS) is still the best resource to assist you. You could also try transferring large file through wired connection to narrow down the cause of the issue. Hope the issue can be resolved soon.

wired works fine, if i use the ms 3.1 network monitor tool to capture vista bsod as soon as a copy to / from the pc, while wireless occurs.if i try to copy a file or folder wireless with 1 large file in it, it fails, if i try to copy a folder with multiple large files, it works.

I don't know if this will work for everyone but I had this same problem: Brand new HP laptop with Vista. The wireless would drop in the middle of a large (> 1gb) file copy over a shared drive. HP tech support had me disable the firewall, turn off power save options on the wireless card, and update the driver. Nothing worked. Finally today another HP technician took the time to make sure I got the 64-bit version of the driver for the Broadcom wireless card (I have 64-bit Vista Ultimate). The driverwas published three months ago, November 2008. I also upgraded to the latest BIOS, published just this month (Feb 2009). For the first time ever I just copied a 1gb file and then a 2gb file with no problems.

I have the same issue with my newly purchased ASUS laptop running Vista Home Premium 32 bit. My Wifi connection drops when trying to copy files to my network drives. I've tried pretty much everyting I've come up with from googling te net. Seem like this is a wirespread problem and I cant understand why MS isn't addressing the issue with their POS OS yesterday.

The intel drivers are bad. It's a known issue. I downgraded to the 11.1 drivers and it's a little more stable if a lot slower. another option is to disable Wireless-N. If you take a look at the BSOD crash driver, it's definately Intel and not MS. I had opened a ticket with MS support and they have also confirmed it's a Intel Issue.Always Beta, why no final?

I'm using a ASUS laptop as well. I was wondering if it had to do with the encryption being used. I was using WPA encryption a month ago, didn't seem to have any problem moving files, but I just bought a piece of hardware that neededwep encryption (only option)so Iswitched everythingon my network to wep, this is where I started to notice the issue. I'm going to switch back to WPA and see if that fixes the issue. Or has someone else tried this as well?
