why home folder can't be find in win7 ???
Hi I have a DC for windows 2003. now , I want to enable the home folder function for some users in our domain, and connect the home folder to the file server. so , I click "ADUC"->find the user I choose ->properties ->profile. then I find home folder option, I choose connect "Z" to \\file server name\share folder name\%username% but here come the problem. I can find the folder created in the file server, and I can access the folder from the client.(I set full control right for authentication user in both share and security ) but in the win7 client, I can't find the "Z" disk or folder when I open "my computer" any suggestion? Thanks

What you mean? Visibility or accessibility? It is not the same, namely in W 7. If you disable for the moment local firewall on W 7, could you see and reach created folder. Another problem is that the rights on shared folder names were set incorrectly. How did you set sharing, permissions and inheritance from parent object? Regards Milos

Hi thanks for your relay and suggestion the problem is fix now there are 2 reasons for this problem 1.firewall, you should enable the "turn on network discovery" in you NIC setting 2.ensure all NIC in your computer enable the setting , some of my clients use wireless and network cable at the same time. so just enable both. Thanks
