will the upgrades work for people who are only using the trial version of Windows 7
I had a friend build a new computer for me and he put the trial verison of Windows 7 on it. I have upgraded it to the RC version of Windows 7. Will the upgrades for Windows 7 that are currently being offered as pre-sales, do me any good since I do not have a previous version of Windows on my computer? I do not have Vista, nor do I have XP. The only operating system I have is the trial version of Windows 7. Does that mean I have to buy a full copy of Windows 7 and not the Upgrades? And if so, will there be any advance sales for the full versions with possibly discounts for uses of the trial version of Windows 7?Thanks....Don

(1) If you don't have an OS that qualifies for an upgrade (XP or Vista), you need a full version instead. The RC isn't a qualifying system.(2) I don't know if there will be advanced sales with discounts for full versions in the future. Maybe. That there will be special discounts for RC users, is rather unlikely.Mobile AMD64 3000+, VIA Apollo K8T800 chipset, 1 G RAM, ATIRadeonMobility 9700, 20x DVDRW, C:XPSP3 (55G),D:WIN7 (25G),F:DATA (250G)

You should check into where you got your PC parts at if you can get an OEM version of Windows. You usually need to buy it when you order your parts and it is usually the cheapest way to get windows and if you get Vista right now you should qualify for free upgrade to Win 7 when it comes out.Tim Comes
