Starting July 8th all of my windows 7 computers started loosing connectivity to the domain controller, they can access all other servers and resources in the office and internet but cannot ping or connect to the domain controller using the server name or ip address (2003 standard v2 32 bit). This condition lasts from a few minutes to a half hour and is occurring through the day. The server is not logging any error under security or system. XP systems are unaffected by this condition and can ping and connect to the domain controller. I have checked to insure that the client is resolving to the server for time, so there is less than a min discrepancy in the time. I have checked DNS & WINS and there are no issues. Theses systems have been on our network over a year+ without an issue. No configuration changes were done to the network or desktops. Since the server cannot be pinged or connected to with the windows 7 machines, yet the xp machines can continue to connect and ping the server it would have to be something software based that is cutting off communications with the pdc.

Software issue can cause this issue. Since the issue occurs on all Windows 7 clients, the cause can be the programs you deployed onto the Windows 7 clients. The most possible reason can be the antivirus and firewall. Have checked for firewall, even disabling it on both client and server. Will check antivirus.

Thought it was avg, but have removed from one system and issue is still occurring.
