win 7 on logon a web page is display which cannot be removed
win 7 pc has had a virus but was removed , it was putting up a webpage on logon which could not be removed , it would bring up the task manager or system restore . have removed the virus but when you logon the web page comes up but now says web page cannot
be displayed , anyone no how to remove this

If you can get into safe mode with networking download superantispyware and install and run it. See if that helps. Use the link below.

Hi Alan,
This could be a remnant or leftover entry of previous malware/virus. Inspecting the startup entries (start msconfig.exe and look at the "Startup" tab entries) would be a good idea. The "Startup" tab Lists applications that run when the computer starts
up, along with the name of their publisher, the path to the executable file, and the location of the registry key or shortcut that causes the application to run.

Also as others in this thread indicated, run a thorough scan just in case.
