I currently have windows 7 32 bit on my toshiba laptop. The computer was running fine until two days ago. I turned it on and it went directly to the start up repair screen. It attempted to repair but the end result was boot manager failed to find OS Loader. I tried to go into safe mode, but the computer doesn't go into safe mode. It just beeps as I press F8. I then tried to do a system restore, but I received errors each time stating system restore did not complete successfuly error 0x80070003. I did not receive a disc with the computer. I did notice that while trying to restore there was a critical download from microsoft the same day the computer stopped working. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can try? Thanks for any help.

You will need to obtain a copy of Windows 7 from Toshiba (or from a friend if they have one) The recovery functions should work fine, just do not use the disc to install as you do not have the license for that media. The laptop usually provides an application to create this media yourself with a couple of blank DVD's, but in the case you are already unable to get into the system. First I put in a 32 bit recovery disc. It told me that I had the wrong disc for the windows I had, but it did show me all of my c: drive and its content to attemp to load a driver. So I know that my C: drive is there. I then put in a windows 7 64 bit recovery disc. This gave me the following response"Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a deviced connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external drive or cd rom drive that is failing. Make sure usb device is properly connected and restart computer. I then can hit enter to continue or esc to esc. both reboot the computer returning me to start up repair menu. It then starts a scan and I'm back at square 1. I then followed the following and received the following responses (all were successful except the 3 noted) c: cd boot attrib bcd -s -h -r ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old ***Response "The system cannot find the file specified" bootrec /RebuildBcd **Response "Successfully scanned Windows installations. Total identified Windows installations: 0 After following the above i then ran the following from command prompt: bootrec /fixmbr then bootrec /fixboot**Response "The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and the vilume is not corrupted. I know I have windows 7 32 bit not sure why disc said it was right. It would however allow me to go through the files to see them. The 64 bit did not. Any ideas?????? Thanks for any advice.djo
