Just a thought, are you accessing it by wireless? Have you try accessing it by cable and see how it goes?

Hello Daniel, yes we tried that with the Linksys Tech. I am now thinking there are 2 problems. 1) The print server is giving me a message that it's in a different LAN segment to the computer. I can only change the domain but that does not fix it yet. 2) For the media player I am now thinking that W7 will not play the Philips software but is trying to use Windows Media Player software. I now have the player on the W7 network map and just need to add the media to WMP. So I assume it work fine if using lan or usb cable but not in the case by wireless? If there's wep/wpa and ssid enable, ensure the passphrase and ssid is the same for both router and notebook, same goes to the print server If still no go, what you could try is disabling all the security feature like passphrase and ssid for the time being on the router config page, remember to save prior to leaving the router config page and try accessing the wireless network and see whether it detect the rest of the network this time

I have upgraded my computer to W7 Home Prem 32 bit. I have a linksys router WRT610n and one PC withan USB wireless adapter running XP and a notebook running XP. I have a linksys wireless print server and a Philips media player. Everything was fine until I upgraded. Now I cannot access devices. Linksys network map shows the devices but W7 network says no computers or devices found. Linksys Tech help say everything is set up correctly. I have gone to control panel/networking and given all the permissions and typed Everyone in the box for who can use the network. The printer is installed and works on USB connection but not by wireless. The shared location icon for the media files shows the "two little people" but I cannot access the media or print anything. The W7 network map only shows the router and the W7 computer. Can anybody help me please?

Hello Daniel, No, it won't print on ethernet cable print server to router or XP notebook ethernet cable to print server and will print USB to all computers. I also have a second brand new WPS54G print server and that does the same so it is unlikely to be the actual server. Still something to do with windows 7 printer sharing maybe. Pass phrases are all very clear on WEP and I can see and set them all accurately it works ok on the router and media player. Care to share which exact model of linksys print server is that? Have you try mapping the path of the print server using it's IP from another pc or notebook?

I guess the problem lies with the configuration and setting on the router config page as well as the print server config page. You need to input the PrintServer’s IP address to access the print server configuration page (also known as Web-based Setup Page) Sames goes to the router config page, you would need to input the router IP address inorder to access the router config page as well. I suggest you to setup the router, print server, laptop, pc, all using lan cable. First and foremost, reset the setting either to default or disable the security feature to none. (with no wep or wpa for the time being) Cos by disabling wep, wpa, the network devices then would be able to see each other's and access. Once you're able to see all network device, next then apply passphrase and ssid, "ensure the router, notebook, print server are using same passphrase and ssid." Once is done, save and exit the config page of the router as well as print server prior to removing the lan cable Next restart the device for the router, print server, notebook and try accessing the network again using wireless. If you're still loss, you might wanna take a look at the following step as how to access the print server & router config page. And enter the same share key you are using on your router on the print server config page, as what i mention>> passphrase and ssid to be the same for router, print server as well as notebook. Hello Daniel, The server ref number on the label on the back of the WPS54G gives LK6D460C - This appears on the installation software as well. The server does not show on the network for the 2 XP computers. I have now clicked some more boxes in W7 and decided the correct route should have been:- 1) Install all the wireless devices according to the router ( linksys ) requirements. 2) Install the printer to each computer to install the drives same for media player 3) Re-install the printer and server to the W7 computer as an "add a device and / or add a printer" and also the media player. I noticed somewhere in W7 properties the words "channel 1" in ref to a wireless device so I changed the channel number in the print server from 6 to 1 and following this I can now see the print server on the W7 network but cannot connect to it. I also still get the message during server configuration that the server and the computer are not in the same segment of LAN but I don't understand what that means. This makes me think I misunderstood your suggestion to remove passphrases because maybe you are correct and that is what is stopping W7 from connecting to a remote server so I will try that next. However the print server is now telling me it is too busy to be re-set without WEP even after factory reset, so I carry on trying as it is only day 7 of trying this installation!

Wireless settings for my Linksys print server WPS54G Select DHCP not static IP Using chanel 1 Using Infrastructure Using 128 bit WEP Use the same security passphrase everywhere and use the one which suits the oldest / least technical device. On Router WRT610G V1 Enable the DHCP. My ISP is a PPPoE and I don’t need the .com at the end of the name. On the wireless DHCP Client table add the name of the server, MAC and IP ( use same IP in the TCP/IP port settings for the printer in control panel ) Enable 128 bit WEP. Use subnet mask 255,255,255,0 Use the same first 3 numbers in the DHCP IP as the server IP W7 network does not show the print server nor the printer but prints to it anyway. The router set up shows the printer and prints to it by cable or wireless. Linksys network ( LELA ) is in colour on all PC screens and shows everything and displays ALL the IP’s and MACs.
