windows 7 oem key is blocked
after my main system finally dying i reinstalled my oem copy of windows 7 home premium on my laptop a hp 530. When i went to activation my copy of the operating system it popped up saying activation key is blocked.
i tried the "call microsoft to activate" and it says the same thing and im unable to go further..
i dont know why my key has all of a sudden been blocked, it is a original disk with original key bought from a legit online company (www.ebuyer.com) and never had a issue activating. thankyou Alex

Thr primary reason your key is blocked is because OEM versions may not legally be transferred from the original system to another platform. OEM keys are locked to the original hardware for life IAW the Micrsoft EULA.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. im under the impression that once the system that has the original installation is nolonger in use (dead) it can be reinstalled on another system. but can only be installed on one system at a time ?

What you state is only applicable to Retail versions of Windows. OEM versions do not have this freedom. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
