Hi maliapua, ·What happens when you try to open desktop icons?·Do you receive any error message or error code?·Do you remember any recent changes made on your computer prior to the issue?·What is the service pack installed?·Do you have any security software installed?·Are you able to search for other files on the computer? You may run the fix it from the below link and check the results: Fix broken desktop shortcuts and common system maintenance tasks: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/system_maintenance_for_windows Jqsnotify.exe is a Java Quick Starter process. By default, its file location is C:\ProgramFiles\Java\jre6\bin\jqsnotify.exe and its file size is 48 KB.
