Below is a simple specimen signature, based on my own, in HTML. It shows an image (use jpg, gif, etc.), which could be a logo, picture, avatar, etc. on the left with text on the right. Open Notepad and copy all the text into it. Now edit it to suit your personal details, i.e. change the image (<img src….) and email link (<a href….) lines, or remove them. Also change the other text lines, font, colour and size, or remove them. Save the file with a meaningful name, e.g. signature01.html, preferably in its own folder, e.g. c:\signatures. Also, any pictures you intend to use should be saved in this folder. In Windows Live Mail, go to Tools > Options > Signatures Tab > Put ticks in ‘Add signatures to….’ and perhaps ‘Don’t add….’ then New > File (at the bottom) and Browse to the name of your file (make sure the drop-down menu points to HTML Files) then Apply/OK your way out. You can look at it offline by double-clicking the filename, but it is best to send an email to yourself to make sure it displays correctly, e.g. the size of the image, wording, etc. Here is the specimen code to be copied/saved: <HTML><table width="100%" border=0 cellpadding=15 cellspacing=0><TR><BR><BR><HR><td valign=top width="14%" align=left><table width="100" border=0><img src="c:\signatures\mypic.gif"><TR><TD></table><td valign=top width="86%"><B><font face="times new roman" color=blue size=5>John William Smith</B><BR><font face="verdana, arial, helvetica" color=black size=3>Alternative email: <a href="mailto:name@thing.com">name@thing.com</a><BR>or you can use my Hotmail, Paltalk,<BR>Messenger or Teveo addresses/ID's.<BR>Daytime telephone 0123 456 7890<BR></HTML>

Hello,You can also use live email to create a HTML file: Part 1: Create a HTML Signature Source File-------------------------------1. Open up your email program. 2. From the File menu, click New and then Mail Message. The New Message window opens. 3. Press ALT to show the menu, select Insert | Image | Inline… 4. Navigate to the image file you wish to insert. 5. Click the Open button. Your image should show in the New Message window. 6. Optionally, you may add text and ajust the image. 7. From the File menu, select Save As… 8. Type your File name and select HTML as the file type. 9. Close the open window.10. Locate and open the saved HTML file by Notepad. 11.Locate the line with src=”cid: 12. Remove the contents between the quotes. 13. Press Ctrl+V to paste in your file path. 14. Save your file. In my case, I replaced src=”cid:405D5FBC767641778F51AD4A81034356@XXXX” with src="C:\My Pictures\logo.png" Part 2: Link the HTML file to your Email Signature-----------------------------------Now that the file with your image and text is saved, you need to point your email program to it. 1. From the Tools menu, select Options. 2. Click the Signatures tab. 3. In the Signatures section, click the New button. 4. In the Edit Signature section, select the radio button for File. 5. Click the Browse… button. 6. Navigate to the HTML file you just created. You may need to change the file types list to HTML Files. 7. Highlight your file and click Open. 8. Check your desired Signature settings. 9. Click OK.Thomas77
