windows user management bug
Hello, One this may not be a bug but has cause me major problems.I updted my user accoutn (Administrator) removed all the groups but administrator that I may have added or not. I do not recall changing any of the log on functions as need to change password, etc.. rebooted. and it now tells me I need to reset my password.I enter my password and enter mynew password. it gives me and error and brings me back to the enter new password screen.I logged on as a regular user and checked my properties. and it now shows User must change password at next logon and User cannot change password.one the bug to me is that you (I) can select both boxes at the same time.my problem now is this, I tried activating the administrator account but denies me because of my current rightsi tried the net user Administrator / active:yes but get a system error 5, inssuficent rights I am assuming.I can not uncheck the user must change password box. is their a way around activating the administrator account with out an administrator account?

If you boot in Safe Mode you should be able to logon as Administrator and fix your issue. If I recall you must be member of the Users group to be able to logon to a system. At least UAC will give you a hard time if you are not a member of the group Users. Ray
