It sounds like you are trying to switch users rather than actually logging off and you have many programs running. Try closing the programs and then actually logging off instead of switching users. If this doesn't fit your situation then please post back with lots more details about your computer, including the answers to: The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't? The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this? Be sure the computer is clean: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware Help us help you: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Usenet (you can ignore the references to Usenet/newsgroups since you are posting on a web forum but the suggestions about how to write the post are applicable here too) http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/555375 - How to Ask a Question MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
